The holiday season is right around the corner! The air is crisp, the leaves are changing, and everyone is getting into the festive spirit. Which makes Fall the perfect time to get together as a family! Be sure to set aside some time dedicated to your family and start making some memories. Your kiddos will be so excited to have your attention for a day!
Cook Dinner Together
An easy way to get the family together is to get your hands dirty in the kitchen! Have a pizza night, and let the kids help! They can have a blast rolling out the dough, spilling the sauce on, sprinkling the cheese, and creating their own delicious topping combinations ! Give this pizza dough recipe a try. You get to teach them something by cooking with them, and you get dinner out of it! What’s better than that?
Have a Grateful Circle
Sometimes when life gets a little crazy, and you don’t see each other for a while, it’s nice to just sit down together, and reflect. Talk about what you’re grateful for that day, or that week. Taking some time to step back and remember how blessed you are as a family is important, and you’re creating a great bond with your kids at the same time. If you’d like, you can keep a journal of what you’re grateful for each time, and look back at what you’ve written!
Have a Movie Marathon
Cuddle up on the couch together and watch movies all night! Grab all of your cozy blankets, lay out some pillows, and enjoy the variety of wholesome, family-friendly movies that Pure Flix has to offer! There are tons of options that everyone will enjoy, so don’t stop at just one movie! A movie night is a perfect thing to do when you just want to stay in. Have a yummy cup of hot chocolate or try this festive pumpkin spice popcorn recipe!
Take the Dog For a Walk
This week (October 1-7) is National Walk Your Dog Week. So get out in the fresh air with your pup and your kids and take a walk! You can go to a local park, or just walk around your neighborhood. Not only will your kids love to get some exercise, but you get to spend time with your pet too! Quality family time for everybody!
Nothing says fall like a pumpkin! Get Halloween ready by going to a pumpkin patch and carving some jack-o-lanterns! You can keep it easy, and carve out some funny faces, or mix it up and print out pumpkin carving stencils of a Disney character or cat! You can bake the pumpkin seeds afterward for a snack too, yum!
Family fun doesn’t always need to be expensive, or even get you out of the house! You can find tons of ways to spend time together, and bond as a family. Whatever you decide to do, take a step back from your everyday life, have some laughs and relax!
