Colleen Paige is one of America's premier pet lifestyle experts. As the
founder of National Dog Day, a domestic and wildlife animal behaviorist,
pet friendly interior designer, fine art pet photographer and
Editor-in-Chief of Pet Home Magazine, she offers advice to clients and
readers alike, ranging from dog and cat training, to pet nutrition, pet
friendly homes and gardens, pet safe pools and pet safety for kids.
Her expertise in the field of animal behavior and pet friendly interior
design has been shared with TV viewers in shows like Evening Magazine and
ABC News in Los Angeles and in scores of popular national publications,
such as The Los Angeles Times, The Associated Press, The New York Times,
Total Health Magazine, People, The Denver Post and OK! Celebrity Magazine,
to name a few.
Submerging herself for years in the sad and hopeless world of animal
hospitals and shelters, Colleen tried to make a difference but ultimately
was left feeling empty and frustrated every day. Working as a Paramedic
for six years in Los Angeles, she made a significant difference in the
lives of people - but, encountering hundreds of pets, injured or killed in
car accidents and house fires, continued to leave her with an unhealed
wound in her heart.
Determined to find a way to save animals in a happier light and on a
larger scale, she created National Dog Day. After the overwhelming
response to this day that celebrates dogs for all they do, with literally
a "great big puppy party" which helps to find homes for thousands of them
across the nation, she felt confident to then create the same lifesaving
celebrations for other animals in need, such as cats, horses and wildlife.
As a mother, she understands the necessary compassion that children must
have with animals in order to heal this planet. She therefore plans to
hold events that creates and celebrates that special connection between
them and teaches children to have compassion for every living, as they are
the future stewards of this planet.
Colleen founded the Animal Miracle Network, which is a virtual web of
love, encompassing her lifesaving holidays and connecting with animal
lovers, shelters, rescues and businesses who care about helping orphaned
animals find new homes through their participation in lifesaving events.
AMN's events give pet lovers an opportunity to celebrate their furry kids
with a wonderful day created to honor them for the unconditional love they
bestow. More importantly, it gives shelters and rescues free space to
exhibit and highlight the desperate animals in their care.
Currently, Colleen is a Contributing Expert for Total
Health & Wellness Network, OK! Celebrity Magazine and
DogTime.com. She is also in pre-production of a TV show based off of
her magazine, Pet Home.
